The Head of State received the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili

The President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the guest and noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the comprehensive strengthening of relations with Georgia, one of the key partners in the South Caucasus region. In his opinion, the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and Georgia serve as a strong basis for achieving significant success in deepening bilateral ties.

The Head of State stressed that interparliamentary dialogue plays an important role in strengthening interstate contacts and that the Kazakhstan-Georgia Interparliamentary Friendship Group can significantly contribute to expanding the horizons of cooperation.

As the President stated, Kazakhstani business is currently represented in various sectors of Georgia's economy, contributing to the further expansion of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Special attention was paid to the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian relations between our countries. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took the opportunity to congratulate the friendly Georgian people on their national team's historic entry into the finals of the European Championship and wished them continued success.

In turn, Shalva Papuashvili expressed gratitude to the Head of State and all the people of Kazakhstan for the warm welcome. He noted that his visit was a landmark event, as it was the first official visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Shalva Papuashvili reaffirmed Georgia's commitment to further strengthening relations with Kazakhstan. According to him, Tbilisi looks forward to deepening comprehensive ties with Astana, including in the sphere of transport and logistics cooperation. In particular, the Speaker supported the initiative of our Head of State on the joint development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).
